International Applicants to Walden University

You can apply to Walden if you have a degree or courses from a non-U.S. institution.
Your degree or coursework will be subject to the judgment of the Educational Credential Evaluators, Inc., a separate entity that evaluates degrees and coursework by US standards. Degrees from Australia, Canada, New Zealand or parts of the United Kingdom are commonly accepted by Walden University and others.

English Language Proficiency

In order to do well at Walden, you will have to be proficient in English. Applicants are exempt from proficiency examination if they have a degree from a US institution or from an institution in Australia, Belize, the British Caribbean, the British West Indies, Canada, England, Guyana, Ireland, Liberia, New Zealand, Scotland or Wales.

If you do not have a degree from one of those countries, you will be required to submit a TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language). You must score at least 550 on the paper-based test or 213 on the computer-based. If you require more information about this, you can read more about the TOEFL.

You may also take the MELAB (the Michigan English Language Assessment Battery) or the IELTS (International English Language Testing System).
