Admissions and Financial Requirements at Walden University

Walden University tries to keep its stated goal of opening education to a broad spectrum of learners while maintaining solid academic standards.

Admissions Policies and Expectations

Walden University bases its admission decisions on a careful review of each student’s “statement of purpose,” academic record, their educational background and professional experience. The admission package includes all these considerations, allowing Walden University to assess applicants’ preparation for their chosen program, their capacity for independent study as well as their long-range career and academic goals.

Walden is also looking for applicants who adapt easily to online learning, with an understanding of new technology and the internet. Learning at Walden requires the use of uploads, familiarity with web forums, file organization and more. Not everyone has these skills.
